The 2015 AZ Hip Hop Festival Has Just Released The Line Up

November 14th, 2015 at Comerica Theatre
Today, Respect The Underground, a platform for independent artists announced the massive all local lineup for the second annual Arizona Hip-Hop Festival. Last year, after launching the first inaugural AZ Hip-Hop Fest, The city witnessed history as an all local line-up brought almost 3,000 people through the doors at Comerica Theatre.
Of the companies recent success, Respect The Underground CEO Justus Samuel said “The Arizona Hip-Hop Festival is the most monumental local Hip-Hop event in Arizona History. Because for one day, all people can come together to celebrate Arizona Hip-Hop regardless of ethnicity, status, style of Hip-Hop or the neighborhood they live in. A true celebration of civic pride. We couldn’t have done it without the support of the people and the state as a whole. We are very grateful for the support of every single person whether in attendance or not. This year we will exceed 5,000 people in circulation throughout the day.”

This year, Presented in conjunction with Power 98.3 & Young Arizona,

F&$K Your Feelings: The Hip Hop House May Bruise Some Egos At The AZ Hip Hop Festival

When you think about Arizona’s hip hop scene, you don’t typically think about a deep-rooted hip hop culture. In a land of trap artists and industry copy-cats, there is a group of artists that prove that Arizona has a deep sub-culture that is often ignored by most major music outlets.
The group I’m speaking about is The Hip Hop House, and they’re more like a collection of artists, diverse in every aspect of their crafts. Any night of the week, you can catch one of the 35 performers doing what they do best at local venues, bringing great music to an artistically starved fanbase. The culture is growing fast, and the Hip Hop House is providing a home for many artists from around the state, and country.
Hip Hop House Resident Host RoQy TyRaiD can be heard proclaiming “The Culture is Back!” as local hip hop heads gather en masse at Tempe’s local watering hole ‘Yucca Tap Room’. RoQy TyRaiD (Writer’s Guild, The Wake Up Show Unplugged, The Cleanup Crew, Coolin’ Out, Soul Spazm) is one member of the Hip Hop House resident collective, which also includes: Fact135 (Rhyme and Reason Radio DJ, The Wake Up Show guest DJ, Blunt Club, Coolin’ Out), Nick Norris (Nomad Hip Hop, The Cleanup Crew, Coolin’ Out), Prophetiko (State of the Artz, Nomad Hip Hop), J20 (WTFunk?! Friday’s) and Very G (Afro Classics,Blunt Club, Uptown, Coolin’ Out).
The Hip Hop House has touted some very notable guests over the past 3 years as ‘Arizona’s favorite independent hip hop night’. Guests like: Gift of Gab (Blackalicious), Coolzey, Adder, Bodega Brovas, Grand Agent, and Random (a.k.a. Mega Ran) have helped solidify their place in the Arizona hip hop community. Now the community is recognizing the Hip Hop House again at this years “AZ Hip Hop Festival” at Comerica Theatre – with the Hip Hop House Stage. The will be the 2nd time the Hip Hop House has had their own stage at the year’s largest hip hop festival in Arizona with special thanks to local promoter Justus (Cut Throat Logic).
Justus Started the AZ Hip Hop Festival last year, and brought in over 2,000 heads who rocked out for the better part of a 14 hour day. This year, things will be a little different. There are over 135 acts performing across 5 stages, and that doesn’t include the open mic stage that will be in the loading docks behind the building. To say that every pocket of Arizona hip hop will be represented would be an understatement. There will be every sub-genre from boom-bap to trap, from RnB to Juggalo. All bases are covered.
This year’s roster includes the following Arizona heavyweights:
  • Fact135
  • SlopFunkDust
  • RoQy TyRaiD
  • Nomad Hip Hop
  • Very G
  • Prophetiko
  • I-Dee
  • The Stakes
  • Penny the Great
  • Mr. Miranda
  • Luke Noble
  • J-Flow
  • Jackson Keenh
  • Black One

  • Haze
  • Medaforacle
  • Mister Riot
  • Optimal
  • Rashenal
  • Slogan
  • Staxx Ent

  • Swindoe
  • Klassic MC
The Hip Hop House stage will be located in front of Comerica Theatre, under the main marquee from 11am – 10pm on Saturday, November 14th 2015. The stage will be one of 5 stages scattered throughout Comerica Theatre. Make sure you stop by early and hang out all day. The Hip Hop House never disappoints!

Banners Art

California native Vince Scxtt drops his latest offering “Banners” from his Voices EP set to drop November 20th. Scxtt mixes ambitious vibes with a flurry of quotable and somewhat braggadocio rap over a brass heavy trunk rattling beat produced by Toronto’s own Bijan Amir, with mixing handled by “Poppa Swiss”. Scxtt makes sure we as well as the world knows he needs banners in the rafters for him and his team.
