Odie Maddox is a music artist, instrumentalist and producer from Lake Charles, Louisiana. To start, Maddox has always had a passion for music ever since a child. He was naturally drawn to raw sound of Rock & Roll. However, Odie always loved the Hip Hop vibe. Maddox started producing before he even started writing lyrics or rapping. He made his first beat on a iPhone 3g when he was in the 8th grade. “All my friends were out playing basketball while I was sitting there trying to figure out how to make a beat” He says. So after he made his first beat he thought to himself, “I need to write some lyrics”. So that is what he did. From that moment on he knew he wanted to make a career from this.
Odie eventually officially released his first song on SoundCloud in 2015. He went on to making about 13 more singles. His debut single came out on iTunes and all other music platforms on April 1, 2017. He has released 3 more singles since then and a full length album titled “Bipolar” on December 8, 2017. His latest single called “Float” has received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback. Some of his influences include: Nirvana, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, OutKast, Drake, Noah Shebib, Timbaland, Scott Storch and so many more.
His new, airy single goes by the name of “Float” and is sure to have you hovering round the clouds on first listen.
Maddox says “My latest single “Float” has a vibe for everyone. From clever lyrics and quick spitting hip-hop bars to an R&B transition with some clean vocals and hard hitting bass while. This track has something everyone can enjoy as it coneys the classic Hip-Hop sound mixed with the new wave of trap music.
