A$APhily – Tropics @asaphily02

0

A$APhily drops the juice on his latest tune, “Tropics”:

“Tropics” was just a song I made in a late night studio session by myself. I really felt the vibe of the beat because it had a kind of classic west coast type vibe that reminded me of “Shoreline Mafia” or “Lil Mosey”. I recorded, engineered, and mixed this song by myself.

A$APhily (pronounced: ASAP Phily) is a HipHop, Rap, Pop artist who is very passionate about his craft. He was raised in Fraser, Michigan which is a city right outside of Detroit, Michigan. Since he is about to graduate from school, his main focus is consistent of taking care of his family, always spending time in the studio recording music, and strategically planning his future success.

Sadboy Apex – thanks for the tragedy, I need it for my art @MicahChhong

Sadboy Apex goes into great detail for his first official video, “thanks for the tragedy, i need it for my art”:

“thanks for the tragedy, I need it for my art” is my first music video. It is inspired heavily by the visual storytelling of Indie film artists. We started with a simple single location shoot revolving around a handful of scenes. The transitions were kept as minimalist as possible so that we could dress them up with post-animation. The compositions of most of the shots left empty space to allow for the animator to animate characters and lyrics.

Thematically, the animations start out light as a play on the modern hip-hop music video. As the music video progresses and both the lyrics and visual style becomes more rapid and unhinged, the animation becomes heavier. The video ends with the main character committing suicide in the bathtub. As the character becomes more resolute in this decision, he becomes more disconnected with the real world. We used animation to represent this distance from reality.

From the premise of a sad song mourning the distance between the singer and a lover, the music video adds layers of depth and commentary on the singers own decisions that may have led to the growing distance. This colouring of the source material, adds the depth that could have only been added through a visual medium.

Sadboy Apex is a British-born, Northwest-transplant fresh on the music scene. Starting in late-2018, he quickly built a core fan following as an Emo-Trap artist on Soundcloud. His fans connected with his unique blend of Seattle grunge, 2000s pop punk, and well-read indie pop over dark trap beats. Sadboy Apex provides expressive and vulnerable lyrics addressing issues of post-modern depression, hyperconsumerism, and absurdist philosophy.

In less than a year, Sadboy Apex has released more than 30 tracks and has featured on over 5 albums. His most popular tracks have collected over 50K listens on Soundcloud with worldwide appeal. His unique visual aesthetic has captured the hearts of fans on Instagram with a growing list of engaged followers. His take on high-fashion has also landed him several brand deals with boutique fashion houses.

With influences ranging from Nirvana to The Cure to Lil Uzi Vert, as well as fellow Sadboy artists like Lil Peep, Lil Lotus, and Smrtdeath; Sadboy Apex seeks to continue to hone his craft and champion the new-wave of Grunge inspired Trap.

Good Energy – Show Me @GoodEnergy206

Good Energy from Seattle, WA and Ace from Boston team up to collaborate on this smooth song for the men and women titled “Show Me”. With nice lyrics, meaning and energy. Great hook melody and rap lyrics.

The Seattle music scene is continuing to make itself known one step at a time. With so many artists out there, the diversity of sound is all around so chances are, a casual listener will be able to find an artist who caters to their mood at any given time. One of these artists is Good Energy who is adding to his catalog by finishing up his latest project “Room Keys and Choosing Fees.”

Originally from Seattle where he is currently based out of, Good Energy has spent time all over the country as he grew up partially in California, San Antonio, and South Carolina, each place imprinting the customs of their perspective regions which you can hear when you listen to his music. It’s because of this that you can’t really put him in any sort of box or specific genre as he’s always working on something new to catch the listeners attention. He began recording his own music using Garage Band in 2010, right around the time he began performing and recording with other artists including HP The GameGod, D Man, Dundee and Pyro. He recorded his first project in Portland, Oregon with artist B Maja and Tyus who he met when they were younger.

Always knowing he was destined to be an entertainer in some way, he recorded the song “Danimals” which was met with a positive reception by those who heard it. From there he was encouraged to pursue music by those who were around him. When listening to his music the listener can expect an array of songs ranging from Rap and R&B to Hyphy and Adult Contemporary, through his art its easy to see that his albums have something for everyone to vibe to. Living up to the motto and stage name “Good Energy” sound is influenced by 90’s hip hop, reality rap and pimp music, basically anything that has a smooth sound with something to say.

Growing up he was influenced by artists like the legendary Mac Dre, E40, Messy Marv,
Master P, Snoop Dogg, The Jacka, Jadakiss as well as others. Also on the list, artists like Donell Jones and Erykah Badu as well as the influence of Gospel music.

Earlier this year, Good Energy released an album titled “Energizer & Eros Guide” as well as some singles and videos from his “Room Keys and Choosing Fees” project. Currently he has been doing shows with Jewels Simo’s at her modeling events as well as performing at the “Respect” show back in July as well as preparing to open for Gwopp and Mozzy in Yakima and then again in Seattle on August 30th. Beyond that, he has upcoming shows in Las Vegas before returning to Washington and performing in Tacoma in October of this year.

Looking to reach a wider audience he has been working on some videos with Hunnid K Servo who is the person that has been recording the new music that he and T Gamer have been putting out. Through it all he holds onto the mantra of Good Energy as he feels this is the time where he is truly coming into his own by defining his personality which allows him to show his true character on stage. In a world where music seems to be a commodity, his authenticity just might be the thing that sets him apart from the crowd.

MYCHEEKSARERED – Nohook

0

MYCHEEKSARERED unleashes, “Nohook”. In the essence of a “no hook” type-song, there is no repeating verses or a hook. (Quite self explanatory) The finished product is a very fast-paced, energetic track that doesn’t seem to stop until you’ve reached the absolute last seconds. However, the thing that sets THIS no hook from others is the complexity of the bars that coincide with the overall pace of the track. In this age of rap, it isn’t as common to find someone who can do both.

MYCHEEKSARERED is a 17 year old white kid from Ottawa, Canada. Began writing music at about 13/14, working on perfecting his flow/sound/identity. Because of the fact that he is white, he has persisted on developing his flow so that it would be hard for someone to deny his talent. Also pursuing a career in fashion design… But that will further develop later in the future.

With the ability to create songs of all kinds of moods from more vocal focused, mellow tracks to ones such as NOHOOK, MYCHEEKSARERED has already proven himself to be quite versatile as a rapper with such a small, public discography. With the help of friends, some very talented producers and other artists. The informal SLF group was then created. Collectively spreading awareness for the things that genuinely matter in life. Less of the toxicity that surrounds us constantly.

[FEATURED ARTIST] T.A. – “Otherside of Gravity” | @TAovereverthang

T.A.
South Dakota Native, T.A. releases his debut EP,  “Otherside of Gravity”

The Sioux Falls, South Dakota native, T.A. is a rapper and singer who has collaborated with Post Malone on his “I Know” record last year. Currently, he is negotiating with Epic Records after Republic tried to remove the song from the streaming companies.

T.A.To say the least, T.A.’s harmonic style is more progressive than most but his risks seem to be paying off. On his eccentric and powerful EP “Otherside of Gravity,” he wants to motivate others to realize their dreams.

The 8 track EP touches on every side of T.A.’s versatility as an artist in a composed manner. His artistic growth is evident from his last project “Sacrifices.” The opening track and single “Up All Night” encapsulates his desire to be with that special one.

For those that don’t know, T.A. is not a bashful guy. After opening up about his desire to win, loneliness, and heartbreak – it has led him to find freedom and his soul. Transitioning into “Let it Go,” T.A. experiments with a smooth production by using a light-hearted flow.

The banger of the project belongs to “Acid” featuring a veritable flow with high energy over hype trap production. Be on the lookout for this talented artist, his rise is inevitable. For every level in the game, he blew passed it. Only time will tell if “Otherside of Gravity” is the beginning of a monumental impact.

Be sure to connect with T.A. on social media and digital music platforms. Don’t forget to check out some merchandise at https://www.uknowta.com/
