Saiko Simm & Blairs – The Perfumed Gardens EP @saikosimm @blaiiirs

0

“The Perfumed Gardens” EP is a refreshing melodic lyrical driven approach to the world of hip hop from Saiko Simm an Blairs where some can arguably say its easier to go viral or blow in the social media decade but hard to stand out and separated from sounding like other artist. Chances are the slimmer than ever in a city like New Orleans where both artist are from who feel that the city hasn’t been up to par musically with the rising artist coming out of Atlanta, Cali, New York, Chicago, Florida, etc. Saiko Simm and Blairs combine with a strong amount of chemistry over 7 tracks ranging from down tempo to raging while consistently dropping singles as solo artist in their up and coming careers.

Saiko Simm & Blairs are 2/3 of the Sandbox Ent team aka ( the rockstar and pop star). Saiko Simm is like a balance of hot and cold waters, even though they’re the same substance but opposite in feel. Sim reflects his classic years of 2013 considerably as his hot side from street roaming , gun-play , “mob-tying” , etc until he promised his mother he’d fall back from the streets to focus more on school & ball. The few years after, dedicated on school and changing his situation for the betterment of himself were more of the colder days feeling a lack of keeping up with the streets. The passing of his mother and a few of his brothers to the streets is when life turned turmoiI, dropping out of school but making a promise to never turn his back on his hood again. Simm remains locked in with the musically with his eyes fixed on grinding, hardwork, and dedication. His musical inspiration comes from artist like Lucki X and Lil Uzi while utilizing the two different sides of his own life experiences, keeping a ear and heart low to the streets . He’s a pop star and a product of SANDBOX ENT someone ypu have no option but to feel.

Blairs is love and energy is everything. A spiritual being from an unknown planet who came crashing down from the stars. A rockstar at heart destined to roam the earth with a purpose to transform one’s energy and those around him sonically spreading the knowledge of love to every individual. Blairs music is a reflection of his love experiences, and past mistakes watching those closest to him abandon or give up to him taking him to a place were some don’t come back from facing inner demons and scars. He’s the third additional of the Sandbox Ent team and bringing the energy wherever he walks, from the booth to the spotlight.

Tyler Lawrence drops details behind his latest drop, “Circles”:

After being ‘funemployed’ for a few months and out of the bulls*** of the corporate world, I landed a new job and started back on the grind. But my first few weeks at this job felt like I was back in this toxic, unfulfilling lifestyle I had been plagued with before; running circles every day but ending up in the same place. I found the lyrics from a verse in a sample pack, and they instantly struck a chord in me. I tried to encompass that feeling I had in my return to the corporate wheel with this whole song; even when the drop hits, and that lead feels like its about to bust out of the same cycle, it all comes right back to those words “running in circles to get away…”

Tyler Lawrence is an American DJ and producer who Beyond The Beats podcast called “the artist to watch in 2020.” He is a multi-instrumentalists who first picked up a guitar in the 6th grade and dreamt of rocking out on stage like classic rock legends Angus Young and Jimmy Page. In pursuit of his true passion, he began studying music once again and has since produced four tracks which have gained the attention of indie music press and podcasts. In just a few months, after the release of his third single, “Back to U,” his Spotify monthly listeners went from a few hundred to a few thousand. Mort Vivant – Spooky Boi @its_mort_vivant

Mort Vivant’s “Spooky Boi” flick is a gritty and unhinged performance filled with voice/tone switch-ups, over a catchy beat that’s almost too nasty for the club. It has the earworm hook, it has the slow verse switch-up that hits right back with double-time bars, it has the AESTHETIC-lofi-found footage-1:1 aspect ratio music video that adds to the chaos.

Lansing, Michigan-based rapper and producer Mort Vivant balances rhymes packed with introspective content and experimental production influenced by Flatbush Zombies, Yung Lean, Denzel Curry, Ski Mask The Slump God, and $uicideboys. Beginning music production in his early teenage years, he drew early influence from an amalgamation of progressive house & rave music while fusion dancing with various underground rap niches in his later years.

Lisa-Rae – Therapy @bougierae_

0

Lisa-Rae’s 7-track EP “Therapy” tells a story of overcoming the visceral lows and highs of relationships. The EP opens with an introduction that refers to her relationship with music as therapeutic and it’s what she considers her ode to music. The combination of emotive beats and melodies exposes her vulnerability in tracks such as Pretty Eyes Lie and Down Fall. Conversely, tracks like Get Right Get Left and I Got Me delivers a message of fortitude through her sassy lyrics.

Born and raised in the Bay Area of California, Lisa-Rae developed a passion for music at a very young age. At the age of 8 she began learning how to play the violin and took singing lessons, which she continued with throughout grade school. Growing up in the 90’s her interest focused primarily in Hip-Hop/R&B. She was influenced by artists such as Aaliyah, Destiny’s Child, Lauryn Hill, TLC, Tupac, Outkast, and more.

“I remember bugging my mom to take me to every concert that came to town. It was something about watching each artist live and being able to vibe out with a crowd that kept my aspiration to become an artist alive but I never made the move, nor did I tell anyone about this hidden dream of mine.”

Lisa-Rae attended college at San Francisco State University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and began a career in debt and structured finance. “I always felt I’ve missed my chance at a career in music.” She would make the occasional comment about recording a song in a joking manner to friends and family but no one realized the seriousness through her jokes. It wasn’t until November of 2018 that she changed her prerogative on her “missed chance” and decided to compose and record her first song.

In only 10 months Lisa-Rae released her debut EP, Therapy, available now on all streaming platforms. Her dedication has led to over ten performances at local venues in Oakland and San Francisco, two music video releases with over 3,000 views on YouTube, and she continues to grow a local fan base. Despite the delay in pursuing music, her work ethic and passion is shown through the milestones achieved in such a short amount of time and only contributes to the fact that it’s never too late to go after any aspirations in life.
