David May drops a new single/video off his upcoming album, “Nogales Noise”. Produced by Jordan Fox “A Whole Lot” provides an uptempo anthem for the fall. The video was shot and directed by Sebastian Maldonado.
Some people spend their entire lives searching for a purpose, but that wasn’t the case for rapper David May, who always knew music was his fate.
Born David Mayhall in L.A. county, music was as much a part of his identity as his name, so he chose a moniker as close to his government one as possible.
His love for the art was so strong it morphed into a passion. He became an audio engineer and started hitting the SoCal independent hip-hop scene to make a name for himself.
He released his debut “The Lifestyle of a Dreamchaser” in 2012, joined the burgeoning rap collective One Step Ahead and hit the ground running. He earned his stripes on the live performance scene rocking shows alongside names like Murs, Curtiss King, Noa James, Fashawn and many others.
His 2014 follow up EP “Video 94” showcased his growth as an artist and was pivotal in endearing him to the local hip-hop community. He took a sabbatical of sorts after its release to handle life outside of music, but kept his sword sharp with various features.
With his focus set, a wealth of experience and his business handled, he’s back on the scene better than ever. Armed with a slew of brand new singles, lead by the banger “That’s Crazy,” and with a full length album on the way, David is ready to embrace his destiny.
