“4 Walls” is the first single off of “Woodside Lane”, a collaborative EP by Jayaire Woods and Stan Lane. Stan’s soulful and lush production provide a backdrop for Jayaire to reflect on his journey into adulthood – as a man and an artist. This track is instantly catchy because of Jayaire’s ability to effortlessly traverse between melody and rapping, but the reason listeners will return to the track is his genuine spirit and resonant message.

Jayaire Woods is from Bellwood, Illinois (aka Woodside), outside of Chicago. His music is soulful and the themes of his songs are universal – hometowns, lost love, striving to grow as a person and artist, and finding beauty in everyday things. All four of his projects are cohesive, lush, and critically acclaimed by various industry publications. Lawrence Neil of Passion of The Weiss described Jayaire’s style as, “representative of an unpretentiousness that’s deeply refreshing amongst hip-hop’s omnipresent flexing”, and that his songwriting is, “deeply attuned to the sonic quality of words that makes a listening experience unconsciously delicious”. Jayaire is currently gearing up to release his fifth project, “Life is Grand” due in spring 2019.

Stan Lane is a hip-hop producer from Northern California. He started by playing around on Fruity Loops so his college basketball teammates would have beats to freestyle to. As he honed his technique his love for making music grew and he began making 5-10 beats a day, often staying up late into the night after work. Stan got his first placement on Lil B’s cult classic mixtape “White Flame” and his first gold record on the titular track to Lil Dicky’s album “Professional Rapper” (feat. Snoop Dogg). Stan’s beats are diverse and multi-faceted, highlighting the range of his influences, but typified by dramatic bass and snapping drums. His artistic inspirations are Kanye West, Dipset, and Dennis Rodman.
