Hot List: Producer Jay E Return with “Jay E Presents featuring Midwest’s Best

Jason Jay E Epperson is one of music’s most prolific producers. He is one of the few diamond-selling producers in billboard history and he dominated the early 2000’s with hit after hit from STL Rapper, Nelly.  Jay E  has also produced songs for Murphy LeeSt. LunaticsJustin TimberlakeE-40Cedric the EntertainerLil WayneRon IsleyThree Six MafiaHilary Duff and more but he is still most fond of his hometown work. Many artists have come out of St.  Louis since his entry into the billboards so its only right that the low-key producer finally gives us a Jay E compilation album.

With a star-studded cast of Midwest stars, Jay E’s Jay E Presents is an album that was a long time in the making.  Jay E snagged popular conscious rapper and Nas Fellow, Tef Poe on Smokers Anthem. He also brings in Chingy, Fresco Kane, Murphy Lee, P.R.E.A.C.H, Keem and others on the all hometown affair.   “I really love this project and the people on it because it’s nothing but great artistry.  St. Louis has had a major impact on hip hop globally especially to be such a small town. Look at what Chingy, J-Kwon, Huey and the Lunatics accomplished.  They had songs that crossed over to pop culture whether or not anyone wants to give them that credit.  St.  Louis culture became part of this country’s social dynamics.  From the dances, the cardinal and sports jersey wear to girls with cornrows, Applebottoms and Air Force Ones etc..  There definitely has been an influence and I think with this album and all the artists on it they’re taking control of what they are giving to music.  I think a lot of people will appreciate all that these artists are bringing to the forefront and they deserve that recognition.” -Jay E
