Kid Fre$h Ft DWeezy – BAG SZN @soconcieted97

0

Kid Fre$h is a hip-hop artist, rapper and songwriter hailing from Texas. He decided to consider a full time career as a rap artist after his first two singles, Loyalty (ft. T10) and Rollie, were released to great acclaim. In 2017, he followed up with Smoke Somethin’ and signed a record deal in 2018 with NuSouf Music. In the same year he released the Limitless E.P. and in 2019 he has already released the tracks Pe$os and No Pressure. He has amassed literally millions of listens on Soundcloud and a large following on social media.

This latest track, BAG SZN, is a slick hip hop track where Kid Fre$h really gets to showcase his versatile and highly proficient skills as an emcee and lyricist. As a rapper, he has a distinct, recognizable style and is remarkably fluent on the mic. His talent for verbal dexterity and lyrical flow is a force to be reckoned with, as good as any of the current crop of hip-hop artists.

It begins with a brief but entertaining spoken word intro, before an insistent, intricate beat joins forces with a deep, dub bassline to provide the foundation for Kid Fre$h to lay down some rapid fire rhymes. The track’s main hook appears early and grabs the listener immediately.

Retto – Intoxicated @RettoChi

Intoxicated” is Retto’s third single in 8 months. The track will be on his debut EP, “Intoxicated”. Just like it’s predecessors, the release tells a story. This one is about a young man who is in love with a girl but wont let her find love in him as he’s toxic i.e “a dog” as the story progresses he tells how she tries to to make him fall for her even though he already sees her love. Eventually, it eludes to him actually loving to see her smile and thinking she could potentially be his wife.

All Poets & Heroes – Life on the Line @poetsandheroes

0

All Poets & Heroes latest tune “Life on the Line” is the story is about someone who has taken their own life. The actual character of the story has already passed away. The narrator of the song is the rational part of the brain of this person getting the last say.

You see, when you have these suicidal thoughts, there are two voices at war, the rational part and the irrational part. The irrational side takes control and is normally louder and drowns out the rational. So, this song is about the rational side of the brain saying, “I was trying to find you. I was trying to cut through the noise. Now that you’ve made this decision, we’re all bound to the same fate.”

However, the song ends with hope. Hope for those who are still fighting. The end of the song is telling people to wait, just slow down – telling them not to make that mistake, to find a way to push through and live on.

In the summer of 2015, Rob McCall & Corey Jordan met and founded All Poets & Heroes out of their hometown of Syracuse, NY. That summer, the duo began crafting a sound that explored resonating folk melodies with that of the sensible nostalgia that filled the 90s alternative music scene. Since then, the duo has grown into a full-fledged band developing towards an introspective project that aims to challenge listeners to feel, and to feel deeply. The band is gearing up to release its follow-up album to 2017’s EP, “Where We Lived and What We Lived For” with the lead single, “Life on the Line” to be released on April 12th, 2019. All Poets & Heroes produces music that exposes hurt, longing, and grief and turns those feelings into love, connection, and hope.

Nick Rivera – Emotionless @whoisnickrivera

0

Nick Rivera’s single, “Emotionless”, is an acoustic driven melodic anthem. Heartbreak is something we all can relate to but not all admit.

For Nick Rivera, it’s always been about being dynamic. When it’s all said and done, you won’t be able to remember him as just an artist or producer. The Puerto-Rican American was born and raised under a single mother in Harlem, New York. Upon watching his grandparents participate in choir, he soon developed a personal interest in music. With influences like Frank Ocean, Justin Bieber , and A$AP Rocky, a strong interest in Pop and Rap, and actively writing poetry it was a seamless transition into doing the music thing full-time. He initially went by apartmenttwenty1 and stuck to R&B, but has now refined his ability to create more melodic, poppy music that all can enjoy.

Although it was an interest all his life, the 19-year-old confirmed that music was his calling after one semester at a liberal arts college, where he also gained a love for fashion. With that, he started Not Nice which he dubs a creative collective far beyond just clothing. Besides music he is working toward being involved in TV shows, movies, and simply being a creative all around. His plans to intertwine and engage in all these avenues set up him up for lasting success. Being the youngest to graduate in his high school class, he’s always felt that edge in competing with other and knew his potential. He hopes to build his own aesthetic and leave his impression whoever comes by him or his music. Age is merely a number, but the skill set and range cannot be quantified.
