SoloCelo – The Good Intro @itsSoloCelo

0

SoloCelo is a 19 year old music artist from Chicago, who has gained over half a million streams online by releasing music that takes inspiration from many different musical genres. Growing up on the south side Chicago, and having a mixed background of both Black and Colombian, SoloCelo has been surrounded by many cultures and tastes that have helped mold him into the artist he is today. Although he does mainly focus on rap music, SoloCelo makes it a mission to prove his versatility and dynamic style. From new wave rap, to R&B, to pop, to even rock, SoloCelo brings a new energy to the rap game that has not yet been seen from Chicago.

When listening to his music, it is clear he wishes to detach himself from the more popular sounds that Chicago is known for, like Chief Keef’s drill music, and Chance’s more soulful approach to rap. SoloCelo’s refreshing style and cadence, in part with his many collaborations with the talented Ra Beats, makes his music interesting and fun to listen to.

SoloCelo’s debut self-titled mixtape features 14 songs and collaborations from many different artists — including Atlanta’s Pryce, and Chicago’s very own WemmyMo, Goldenboymnny, Vell Le Villain and Jae Rio. The tape also features productions from Ra Beats & PoloBoyShawty, as well as Bighead & Ronny J. If you did not know of SoloCelo already, it is very hard to know that he is from Chicago strictly from the sound of his debut mixtape. There is a wide range of genres including, new wave and old school rap, pop, and even rock — making for a truly unique listening experience.

Make sure to watch the Diamond Visuals directed video for “The Good Intro” lifted from the “SoloCelo” mixtape.

MariBased1 – Bouncin @MARIBASED1

Who says it always rains in the Emerald City? People who know and love the Pacific Northwest would be quick to tell you: Seattle has more than its share of beautiful days. The skies are clear and blue in the video “Bouncin”, the latest single from Seattle emcee Maribased1, and the aerial shots of his neighborhood by director Ife Adeniji, who calls himself the Video Dope Dealer, are nothing short of breathtaking. Just as Maribased1’s clip for his prior single “DOE BOI” showed viewers a side of Seattle they don’t normally see with a look at the grimy backstreets of the town’s rougher neighborhoods the central area to the south end, the sunny, breezy, warm-weather “Bouncin” video does, too.

Broadening the perspectives of outsiders is one of the many things that Maribased1 does well. In his music, he presents a multifaceted Seattle: a Seattle of dealers and customers, party kids and serious grownups, the rich and the poor, the hustlers and the thieves, the beautiful and the ugly, all side by side without any contradictions. He’s carrying on a long tradition of Pacific Northwest storytelling, and doing it with formidable skill and an irrepressible sense of fun. MariBased1 beats and his flow draw from hip-hop past and present – you’ll hear echoes of contemporary H-Town production, classic Bay Area hyphy (his name is an allusion to Lil B), and, in the unflinching honesty of his verses, even a little old-fashioned East Coast narrative rap. This is the new Northwest – a cultural crossroads at a corner of America – and Maribased1 is one of its undisputed leaders Seattle music is real.

“Agony” is a song that describes $nigg’s stress and struggles he goes through with females. $nigg is a good guy who’s kindness is often taken for weakness. Everything $nigg talks about in the song are facts. The song was produced by one of his favorite producers “Born Hero”. Like the majority of $nigg’s songs it was self mixed and mastered.

$nigg is an 18 year man from south Alabama. He has a style influenced by Lil Peep, Lil Tracy, and the whole Gothboiclique scene. $nigg started making music at the young age of 11. He started making music because of his love life struggles and he felt like no one understood him. He is mostly a happy person on the outside and most of his peers thought he had no feelings or ignored him when he told them how he felt. $nigg was very frustrated by this which led him to making very passionate music.

When he first started advertising his music, people thought it was very weird. Especially because of his location, their is no one else making music in his genre. Instead of quitting this made $nigg more determined to be successful. $nigg’s top priority is to help people who struggle with the same problems through his music and to let them know that they are not alone. $nigg bought a MacBook, an interface, a mic, and Logic Pro X and learned how to mix and master his own music through YouTube.
