Touching on a variety of subject matter from social ills, racism, bills, trapping and working a 9 to 5, the lyrics are still catchy with a stellar motivational hook. The track is produced by S. That is the raw street energy that AV The Great and Gas House Smitty bring on their project, “Bunkin 101”.

If there is a word that defines turning nothing into something, the term would be “Bunkin”. An underground southern term that is commonly used in the streets but has yet to be brought to the mainstream. Like great the Texas groups before them (UGK, The Geto Boys, DSR) they are showcasing a raw sound with honest motivational lyrics. The story of the everyday person that goes to school or working a dead-end job or starting a business or trapping on your favorite digital scale or sometimes, all of the above at the same time. If you getting to the money on a mission, you “Bunkin”. If you having a good time, you “Bunkin”.

Their debut group project “Bunkin 101” is a high energy, fun, no-filter, dangerous yet exciting universal sound with a blend of the same Texas culture that resonates with many and has brought fame to the great artists most recently Drake and Travis Scott. What’s the difference? “Bunkin 101” relates to everyone, not just lady’s and druggies. Lil Toddie

Lil Toddie’s newest EP “Toddie x Sensei” immediately catches your attention with hard hitting yet smooth beats coming from Thot Sensei. With songs like “Attack” and “Can’t Stop”, Toddie quickly shows you his versatility within his lyrics and flows. Toddie is multifaceted with his delivery and by dropping off an infectious taste of his aggressive flow and hypnotic choruses and vocals, this EP uncovers a tremendous amount of potential as an artist.

Lil Toddie is a rising rapper out of New Jersey, who as we’ve seen with other East Coasters, is pulling from Atlanta and Chicago sounds. His music is darker and heavier than any of the aforementioned artists, going for some gritty, uncompromising street music that doesn’t hint at crossover appeal. While not an entirely new sound, he does it with a precision that demands attention. He has been gaining a lot of attention this past year with opening up for Dave East, being on Dinner lands #NewMusicMonday and Scottie Beam from HOT97 #PutyouonPlaylist.

Directed by Staten Island’s own Ezru, the 21 year old Brooklyn native discusses his upbringing as a kid growing up in Crown Heights, witnessing his mother’s alcohol and drug abuse, and lack of money for years which inspired him to start writing his own music in order to avoid the same rough lifestyle.

Thoughout the song Zel quotes, “I remember nights when I ain’t have no food to scrape, been through so much drama like tay-k I did the race.”

And with his brothers tagging along teasing the camera with their effortless moves… they make sure to grab your attention from beginning to end.
