America’s Most Wanted Mixtape: Freebandz Casino’s Disrespectful

As of May 7th editors, journalists and music fans all across America are still impatiently waiting for the release of Freebandz’ CEO and Star, Casino’s highly anticipated mixtape, Disrespectful.  Every week we seem to get closer to finally having the mixtape in our hands and fulfilling our higher ups request of capturing the sounds that Casino has curated in the past year.  Like Frank Matthews, Casino seems to have been eluding us with Disrespectful. It seems like every other day we see him in new interviews and shining on the gram but no album.  Is Casino playing mind games with the public.  Is this just a game of Catch Me If You Can? Is he playing us like Frank Abernathy played that detective all those years while he successfully pulled off heist after heist?  So we had to ask when are we getting Casino’s highly publicized  mix-tape?
After repeatedly emailing and contacting his publicist  Abesi of Abesi PR who has promised us an interview with the Freebandz CEO, we finally got a simple email today.  This is what it read,  Disrespectful is Coming Soon.  Your new fave is worth the wait but you already know that.  Thank you greatly for supporting Casino. Nothing is bigger than the bird, signed with love -A. We deciphered the short email that came across much warmer than we thought and discussed clues that we may have had in front of us about what is really going on with this Freebandz project. An hour later Casino’s publicist followed up with a snippet of a few tracks.  After hearing these tracks it was over for us.  We knew right then and there that all great things take time.  We know now that Casino and Freebandz are preparing us for something more than we could even have envisioned and something hip hop deserves, a truly great story teller, with truth, depth and creative producers who can cater to our short-attention span and crave for trap, hip hop and even EDM?  Casino has it all.  And we wish we could share the snippets sent by his publicist but we are still trying to process how we didn’t know how incredible of an artists Casino was all this time.  So from Move that Dope to Karate Chop to the new songs on Disrespectful we are here to let you know that Casino is definitely worth the wait.  – Follow him on instagram  @casino_fbg

Hot List: Producer Jay E Return with “Jay E Presents featuring Midwest’s Best

Jason Jay E Epperson is one of music’s most prolific producers. He is one of the few diamond-selling producers in billboard history and he dominated the early 2000’s with hit after hit from STL Rapper, Nelly.  Jay E  has also produced songs for Murphy LeeSt. LunaticsJustin TimberlakeE-40Cedric the EntertainerLil WayneRon IsleyThree Six MafiaHilary Duff and more but he is still most fond of his hometown work. Many artists have come out of St.  Louis since his entry into the billboards so its only right that the low-key producer finally gives us a Jay E compilation album.

With a star-studded cast of Midwest stars, Jay E’s Jay E Presents is an album that was a long time in the making.  Jay E snagged popular conscious rapper and Nas Fellow, Tef Poe on Smokers Anthem. He also brings in Chingy, Fresco Kane, Murphy Lee, P.R.E.A.C.H, Keem and others on the all hometown affair.   “I really love this project and the people on it because it’s nothing but great artistry.  St. Louis has had a major impact on hip hop globally especially to be such a small town. Look at what Chingy, J-Kwon, Huey and the Lunatics accomplished.  They had songs that crossed over to pop culture whether or not anyone wants to give them that credit.  St.  Louis culture became part of this country’s social dynamics.  From the dances, the cardinal and sports jersey wear to girls with cornrows, Applebottoms and Air Force Ones etc..  There definitely has been an influence and I think with this album and all the artists on it they’re taking control of what they are giving to music.  I think a lot of people will appreciate all that these artists are bringing to the forefront and they deserve that recognition.” -Jay E

Wazy Matt

“Ten Three” is Wavy Matt’s 6th released single. Seemingly using his voice as another instrument within the instrumental, Matt’s style quickly switches from rapping to singing backed by sporadically delayed ad-libs. The vocals sitting neatly on top of the stripped down melody and gritty, heavily saturated 808s accompanied by kicks and a snare that cut through the mix like a blade.

Wavy Matt is the stage name of Matt Hunter, a jack-of-all-trades rapper/singer/producer/engineer from Warner Robins, GA. Starting in mid-2017, Matt has created a steady stream of singles utilizing autotune, samples from anime and video game soundtracks, and heavy 808s to produce a very melodic yet hard-hitting sound.

Kynard

Kynard and Q Carter present the official video behind “Bout Dat”. The concept for the video was loosely based on The Hangover movie shot in Las Vegas.

Hip Hop/Soul artist Kynard released his debut album “Get Thru The Day” in 2017. “Get Thru The Day” was met with praise for it’s unique combination of hip hop and soul. The lead single “Friend or Foe” was a refreshing narrative of race relations in America and went on to garner over 100k in views. Currently Kynard’s push forward in 2018 is yearlong project called #FreestyleFriday where he releases a new video freestyle over some of hip hop’s greatest beats as well as some you may not know. As well he is releasing new single’s every other month to keep the content new and fresh while building his fan base.

Kynard has fused Hip Hop, Soul, and smooth melodies to create a sound that can only be described as his own. Currently located and performing in Austin, TX he was raised in the Midwest for most of his life. Kynard was influenced by 90s R&B as well as the sounds of West Coast Hip Hop and East Coast lyricism. Taking in the combination of those rhythmic sounds, his interpretation is fresh, with a bold voice filled with insight of the stories from the many walks of his life. Only now has he decided to share his stories musically.

At this point Kynard is enjoying the journey of performing, writing new music, and meeting people who enjoy what he does. Starting with a small fanbase, the goal has been to get the music into people’s hands either by social media or live performances. Always ready with a joke or something funny to say, Kynard is nothing short of a character who enjoys music and good people.

Wavey Media drops a trippy visual for LilxRambo’s new song, “Find Me A Way”

LilxRambo born and raised in the Bay Area, mainly Oakland. He was inspired by a variety of artists to pursue his dream. Traveling the world at a young age, he came across different sources and vibes to uplift his music. TLLDWN – Deep End @wearetlldwn

TLLDWN

TLLDWN is a dark and energetic remix to They’s “Deep End”. The colossal sounding vocals, layers of analog bass lines and textures give it a dark Neo Soul/R&B vibe that you can feel right from the beginning. The west coast bass throughout the verse and chorus is complimented by a bouncy drum pattern.

TLLDWN is a producer duo from Munich, Germany consisting of Heartbeatz and Capital P. The duo first started collaborating in August 2015. Hundreds of studio sessions and endless nights later they decided to form the Duo TLLDWN, pronounced Till Dawn, in January 2018. Their sound ranges from complex and big arrangements, dark, harmonic and deep sounding melodies to hard hitting and heavily 808 influenced trap drums. Listening to them will get you caught up in a vibe similar to 6lack, The Weeknd and They.

Blastro

Blastro is a 20 year old rapper and producer from Charlotte, NC. He started making music at a young age but began to take it more seriously in 2016. As a sophomore in college he taught himself how to produce, mix, and master music; this led to the release of his first song, “All I Want” produced by CashMoneyAP. In July 2017 Blastro released his first two official singles, Hilltop and Rari Dash. Both songs appear on his debut mixtape Digital Bags, released April 27, 2018.

“Digital Bags” is my debut mixtape. It shows my versatility as an artist as well as my ear for a solid hook. Autotuned melodies over bass heavy trap beat provide a sound very popular in the current hip hop scene. The project features production from CashMoneyAP, MJNichols, myself, and many others. Stand out records from the mixtape include: Nasdak, Way Up, Superstar, and I Got It. The project features a variety of different sounds and styles; however, it maintains its cohesiveness and easy play through ability. This project is catered to the younger generation of hip-hop, people who are fans of artists like Rae Sremmurd, Lil Yachty, Lil Skies, and Nav.
