New Music: URBANO – Royal Family
Philadelphia Brother and Sister Duo URBANO releases a urban pop album title “Royal Family”. The Album has a eclectic style of hip-hop, pop, EDM and urban flair. There are rapping portions over the verses and singing over the hooks and bridges. There are 11 tracks total with different aesthetic styles but generally upbeat with lyrical content. Recording their urban pop album at Milkboy has allowed them the opportunity to record with talented Grammy nominated engineer and producer, Joe Logic. Their debut album, “Royal Family”, has taken them a diligent two years to perfect, but created eleven commercially driven urban pop songs. They have also been able to network further and work with producers such as, Sean Divine, Bombs and Bottles, Cam Taylor, IAMVINAY, Zaro Vega, Kajmir Royale, and Kid Flash. Dallas Johnson also known as Vocero is a rapper in the state of New York. He’s a young soul who reaches for the highest of all in his music career. Vocero started at just the age of 13 and was heavily influenced by his big brother to pursue his music career. His brother was a battle rapper and as he looked up to him he began to follow in those same steps. I had the pleasure of sitting down with such an amazing and talented young man to talk about his journey in making music and striving to be the very best recording artist that he possibly can be. He is currently working on new music that will soon be released. In time everyone will know who Vocero is. As an introduction to who he is we have posted his latest EP, “Vollywood” above.

Sonne Riley – “Serena Williams” | @SonneRiley
A couple of weeks ago, nineteen year old Baltimore singer/songwriter Sonne Riley was commissioned by ESPN to write a poem dedicated to Serena Williams for their website. The results were so inspiring that it simply had to be set to music and turned in to a song. With an amazing piano track courtesy of Brthdayx, Sonne’s poem morphed in to not just a tribute to Serena, but an ode to strong Black Queens everywhere and a metaphor for how he has dealt with the adversities in his own life. Tampa native Vinny Virgo drops off the first official single in his Dead Bird Labels’ post-summer campaign with his cut “Fast Car”. The song got because Virgo says it perfectly describes a “fast” seductive female as an un-catchable automobile. The self-produced cut packs a melodic harmony, driven by a bouncy 808 drum pattern that will leave your head bobbin’ back and forth from the jump.
