Jay Clout – Don’t Care

0

Jay Clout was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1996. Interested in music from early childhood, he started playing guitar and writing songs by the time he was 9 years old. Struggling to find support from his family to pursue music as a career, he changed his last name to ‘Clout’ to represent the fame and success everyone told him he would never achieve. Now, Jay Clout makes songs about heartbreak and love accompanied with melodic hip hop style production.

He explains his latest release, “Don’t Care” below.

https://youtu.be/PhWu9O3vPrk

‘Don’t Care’ was a song I wrote after meeting a girl and spending the next 2 weeks traveling anywhere we could afford, watching Netflix, and basically falling in love with each other. It was short lived, but it was a really cool time in my life and I really just wrote exactly what we did and what I felt. It turned out to be a pretty special song. The song references the girl being my “biggest fan” because we’d sit and listen to my music for hours at a time and she loved literally every song. I wanted to make something with no verse, just a a pre chorus and chorus repeating over and over. It’s not my favorite song i’ve made, I have alot of unreleased stuff coming out really soon.. but everyone seems to like this one so that’s dope.

Pelly – Nightcalls @official_pelly

The song “Nightcalls” from Pelly depicts the feelings you experience on a drugged out night. The atmosphere is pretty dark and dramatic. The song is very melodic and almost half-sung. You could compare it to the sounds of artists like The Weeknd, Travis Scott and Don Toliver.

Pelly is a 19 year old musician from Nürnberg, Germany. He grew up on classical music as well as Toronto-based Hip-Hop and now tries to translate these aspects into his own music. He began making beats at the age of 16 and has been in several choirs from which he draws his singing inspiration.

Kazi – Money Heist @bykazi_

Inspired by the Netflix show “Money Heist”, Kazi’s latest drop is all about pursuing the bag. He’s so passionate about hustling and music that he was influenced to make a song for a late night cruise in the city when plotting on the next money move.

Born in Africa and raised in Canada, Kazi drew to music at an early age of 8 years old. He was first introduced to Hip-Hop by his uncle, who played him College Dropout by Kanye West. This album led him to a deeper dive into Rap music. For the next 7 years, he studied the genre and soon enough began crafting music.

As of September 2019, Kazi’s been running a campaign called “Campaign 20/20”, where he releases a new single every two weeks until the end of the year 2020.

Dilatedpupilsxxzxlove – dim the lights

Dilatedpupilsxxzxlove debuts the new single, “dim the lights”.

I’ve collaborated with Jimi Ono on this track. I found Jimi on SoundCloud and I immediately felt in love with her own unique singing style. She sings with her heart and her vocal melodies are so emotional. I think she has great potential and I believe she should work hard to get her name out there because people need to listen to her music.

The style of the song is alternative, I got influenced by Lil Peep and this new generation of sad rappers originated in the SoundCloud rap scene. The track was mastered by Joe LaPorta who works as mastering engineer at Sterling Sound and he did such a great job.

The beat is melancholic. I produced the instrumental combining many elements like synths, bells, guitars, a synth bass and also a 808. I made a drop every time I wanted to change rhythm to the song. Jimi recorded the vocals in a very passionate way. I like the way her audio engineer mixed them, someone could think the autotune effect is a bit too excessive, but in my opinion he did something original.

The result is something raw, pure and overwhelming. My music is addressed to everyone that feels alienated and antisocial, vulnerable but rebellious, mad but silent, craving love and affection till it turns out to be pain and depression.

Dizzy Villain – Nosferatu

0

“Nosferatu” is the first video off of Dizzy Villain’s next album, “Until The Beat Fades”. The theme behind the song is purposely falling into a very dark place in your life, embracing it and thriving there.

From Albuquerque, New Mexico, currently out of Denver, Dizzy Villain has been rising up the ranks quick and earning real respect in the game, he is here to blur the lines that separate genres and to peel off the label that is on rap music. Dizzy is not an artist that is going to fall into an average or common category, he is something different entirely.

For him Hip Hop really is a way of life. It’s one of those things where you’re completely in or out. While he likes to have as much fun as possible and use music as a release, it’s also very much a job for him and he is always either writing rhymes, performing or organizing events. From performing with Chino XL to hitting the stage with members of Jedi Mind Tricks, Army of The Pharaohs, Zion I and Wu-Tang Clan; Dizzy has been working hard the past few years.

APKLYPZ – Time @apklypz

“Time” in the world of APKLYPZ is the unknown march into darkness. The trippy mind-bending perceptions of infinity. The psychedelic wanderings of a consciousness loose in the cosmos. The groove between space and time, the analog and the digital, reality and illusion. Indulge in the visual behind the single on YouTube.

APKLYPZ has been honing his skills as a musician and songwriter for decades; spending his youth playing in metal and funk bands across the south. But it is deep down the electro-musical wormhole of psychedelia and jazztronica, that the sound of APKLYPZ is formed. A thickly layered mixture of vivid electronic production, the music is as emotionally engaging as it is intellectually challenging but the music is only half the story.

APKLYPZ has developed a distinct visual tone by working as a globetrotting professional video producer for nearly a decade crafting visual messages for some of the biggest companies on earth. Weaving a trippy dystopian vision into a psychedelic tapestry fit for the apocalypse, APKLYPZ welcomes us to a unique audiovisual experience.
