“No Worries” is the first released track by Kage AOI. It’s a song about jealousy. Friends become rivals and for as long as they hate; Kage lives his life unintimidated, unscathed and remains chasing the girl of his dreams.

Kage AOI has begun the journey of Kages Revenge. As a young artist/songwriter his inspirations are derived from a lifestyle many can relate to. With the bitter taste of death, defeat, and distrust still on his tongue… this is Kages Revenge.

Leatherphace – Sauce @phreddiekrueger

0

Leatherphace’s “Sauce” is a love song at its core but Leatherphace manages to give off positive vibes throughout rather than leaving you caught up in your feelings. His soothing tone and melodic approach blend perfectly with Kid Ocean’s piano based production giving the song great replay value.

For the video, Leatherphace once again teams up with director Code Abi for another signature lo-fi, guerilla style visual. With New York City as the backdrop, Leatherphace performs on rooftops, alleyways, and corner bodega stores making every location no matter how random seem perfect for the occasion.

In late 2017, Leatherphace released his debut single “No Stress”. The now 19-year-old rapper’s unique sound and vibe stood out among the crowd. His songs feature catchy melodies sure to get stuck in your head for days, along with a mix of rapping and singing.

The music video for “No Stress” was shot on a low-budget VHS style film, which had many viewers questioning: Who is the enigma known as Leatherphace?

Several songs and music videos had since followed his debut, but then seemingly out of nowhere Leatherphace went MIA. This left thousands of listeners in the dark wondering if and when more music would be released.

In the fall of this year, after nearly a two-year hiatus, Leatherphace released the single “NO CZ”. The song generated a newfound buzz and sparked a genuine curiosity among listeners, both new and old, with many having questions about the artist shrouded in mystery. Two more songs and videos dropped in November of this year, but one can only hope that Leatherphace doesn’t go ghost on us again and that in time we’ll learn more about his cryptic background.

Backstreet Peejay – Titans Over Spades @BackstreetPj

0

“Titans Over Spades” is an EP by Backstreet Peejay illustrating the victorious story of an underachiever who finally defeats his adversities. Though it’s 4 songs, This EP is nicely constructed with jazzy sounds, astounding flows and snappy beats with smooth transitions. The intro does a great job of preparing you for the tone of the project because Backstreet only waits a few seconds before he hits you right in the face with his sporadic cadence. Backstreet is heavily influenced by the south and he raps with such an edge that’s engaging to listeners. Hence, he’s usually mistaken to be from Chicago and is often compared to Isaiah Rashad or J.I.D but Backstreet definitely stands firm and erect in his own originality.

Titans is a metaphor for the obstacles that Backstreet Peejay encountered while going the great distance. After a longtime of playing the same hand with the cards he was dealt Backstreet sets out for more. He then realizes that the Spades he has fought for only earned him a seat at the table. The game isn’t over, which is why Backstreet concludes the project with a heartfelt song telling loved ones they have “no worries” and to let go. This song explains his mission and apology in advance for his absence while pursuing his dream.
