Cris DaShon Ft FlojoBenz – SUPA! @CrisDashon

0

Chicago’s Cris DaShon grabs a strong feature from FlojoBenz for his Lord Haiti-produced bouncer, “SUPA!”

Growing up in the cold-hearted city that is Chicago, Illinois, it wasn’t long before 24-year-old Cris DaShon would become conversant with the harsh realities of the world. Curtained by no means, the young emcee was exposed to habits commonly adopted in the inner city. Nonetheless, this exposure didn’t influence his character in a way many would expect.

With the knowledge from his mother, Cris would find harmony in his life that many of his childhood friends were missing. It is that harmony that would inspire his untold story of “The Loop”, the trials of young black males trying to escape the influences of Chicago during the cycle of life.

During his adolescence, Cris DaShon became interested in the art of emceeing when he stumbled upon Ludacris’s “Word of Mouf” and, Nas’s “Illmatic” CD, which helped him prepare for opportunities that would arise in the music industry. At age 18 he released his first mixtape “A Writers Mind” in 2012, creating buzz, locally. In 2013 Cris then went on to create his Grind and Improve movement.

His Grind and Improve movement represents self-improvement while understanding the value of hard work and emphasizing the importance of time. Through his movement, Cris is able to show why his passion and appreciation for music sets him apart from the rest because he uses real-life experiences to illustrate his philosophies through music. He understands the musical aspect of being commercial and being creative. His style consists of lyricism, originality, soul, and bounce. Environment, Experience, and mood also play a big part in his writing process.

Cris DaShon is coming in 2019 strong with his upcoming EP, “Don’t Sleep”.

Taiyamo Denku Ft Sa-Roc – Murder Intent | @TaiyamoDenku |

With his newly released maxi-single for “Riot Control”, microphone specialist Taiyamo Denku revisits the 2013 album “Supernatural” and reworks one of its hardest tracks. Once named “Murderous Intentions”,  the song carried features from Joel Ortiz and Rhymesayers artist, Sa-Roc. With the release of “Riot Control”, Taiyamo and Cypha Den Music producer Dcypha debut a souped-up, completely reworked version that appears on said project.

Renamed “Murder Intent”, Denku and Sa-Roc go on a verbal killing spree from the go. The Milwaukee emcee kicks his verse off with “Ready Player One? / Gerald Butler, I’m the looper,/ you fucking with a dragon / (pshh) meet the koopa”. Other jaw dropping metaphors can be heard thru his verse and hook.

After Taiyamo sheaths his samurai sword, Sa-Roc rushes the flank with a flurry of tongue-twisting, soul shattering syllables that leaves absolutely zero survivors. She cuts down adversaries with lines like “I’ll take you deep in the jungle / rumble without the gloves / cause it ain’t sacrifice if the win come without the blood”.

“Murder Intent”, 2 versions of “Riot Control” and a few other new tracks are now available for streaming and purchasing on Bandcamp.

kink – death run @polkadotkink

Death metal rapper kink debuts the intoxicating anthem, “death run”. Here’s what he had to say concerning the drop:

This song was about releasing anger and stress. Sometimes I feel like I’m running from the demons that will kill me. I worked with zacariiah to make the production as aggressive as possible but still keeping a tolerable, emotional vibe. I wanted people to feel my pain. We really liked how the 808 hit suddenly interrupting the beat as pain would interrupt life. The disturbing background was made from 3 separate layers on aggressive synths off of Ableton. This feel gave the vibe of how life is always moving and is never really comfortable. All in all, it came out pretty well and we’re pleased with how it sounds.

Ryan ‘Kink’ Brodnik is a producer/artist from the music collective, Explicit Records. Kink is an unpredictable, to the point, dynamic character to have. His aggressive but witty bars always draw interest and he always keeps things interesting by changing up the flow constantly. On the production side, Kink works with the two Explicit producers, zacariiah and poncho, on most of his tracks. When everything is flowing together, Kink can put together a catastrophic masterpiece that has you curiously wanting more.

Roku – Rock and a Hard Place

“Rock and a Hard Place” is the intro to the hard-hitting, melodic EP, “HOWDIDTHATWORKOUTFORYOU”, from Roku. This track is inspired by a feeling of being trapped, but remaining calm despite the situation. It has a unique bounce to it, as well as relatable lyrics and creative flows. This song is perfect for a show or to play in the car.

Creatively blending his ear for melodies with the sound that’s taking the DMV area by storm, Roku is a recording artist that hails from Rockville, MD and has his sights set on separating himself with his lyrical dexterity and creative flows. The combination of Kid Cudi, Nirvana, 50 Cent, and others as influences has helped to sculpt his artistry as he defiantly preaches longevity while radiating a message of connection and blurring the lines.

He has worked with a compilation of artists around the Rockville/Silver Spring area on tracks like “Anyway” with the likes of Kasey Jones and Walakalala, as well as “Topanga” with Strakt (Labi). He also enjoys showcasing his solo work and creativity with projects such as HOWDIDTHATWORKOUTFORYOU, his second of the year.
